Committees & counsel — a neutral directory

The entities that have publicly surfaced in this wind-down so far. Listing is not endorsement, membership, or verification — it is a map. We are not affiliated with any of them. Do your own diligence. ← Back to main page

Read this first: wind-downs attract impostors. Anyone can name a committee; anyone can call themselves "official." Before sharing data, signing a retainer, or sending funds to any entity below — or to us — verify identity through independent channels: the firm's own published contact details, court filings, and bar registrations. See avoid recovery scams.

Ad hoc claimholder committee

Ad hoc claimholder committee — organized by Echo Base, September 2, 2026. reported

Before engaging: confirm the committee's current mandate, who its members are, and that the counsel named is actually engaged — verify through the firms' own published channels, not links handed to you in a chat.

Firms that have publicly surfaced

Sonn Law Group — announced it is investigating claims of $500,000 and above by affected customers. reported

A firm "investigating" is running an intake, not making a finding. Inclusion here records the public announcement only. Contingency arrangements, engagement terms, and who the firm represents are questions for the firm itself — get any engagement in writing before signing.

White & Case — reported as counsel in the restructuring floated August 21. reported

Alvarez & Marsal — reportedly engaged as financial adviser in September. reported

These are reported engagements by the exchange or its estate, not claimant-side representation. An exchange's restructuring counsel works for its client — do not assume their interests align with yours.

Fieldfisher / Travers Thorp Alberga — claimant-side team that posted directly in the affected-customer group, proposing a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) structure and stating that public information suggested the exchange held only ~$5–6 million against claimed volumes. Registration intake: bitmartregister@fieldfisher.com — stated no victim contribution or minimum claim size. reported

Verify the intake address through Fieldfisher's own published channels before sending anything. The "$5–6M" figure is the firm's characterization of public information, not an audited number.

Duan & Duan — asset-ownership litigation theory (arguing customer assets are held on trust, not unsecured claims) with litigation-funding pursuit; reported registration deadline October 20, 2026, coordinated through the Global Creditors Group channel. reported

Deadlines announced in chat channels are worth treating as real even if unverified — missing a real registration window can cost you a seat. Verify engagement terms in writing.

Cooke, Young & Keidan — appeared in the affected-customer group at approximately 20% contingency. reported

bitmartclaims.com (Digital Recovery) — a claims-purchasing desk: "Sell your BitMart account claim." Buying claims is a legitimate market, but an offer prices in the buyer's margin — understand what you are selling, at what discount, before signing an assignment. reported

How to evaluate any group asking for your data

Our own answer to the same test: this registry asks for claim data only — never passwords, seed phrases, payments, or ID documents. Submissions are sealed client-side, retrieval and deletion are self-service, and the code is in this repository for inspection. Apply the same skepticism to us.

Additions and corrections

If a committee, counsel, or claims agent has been formally appointed — or if anything above is inaccurate — submit a correction with supporting evidence through the private form. Verified changes are incorporated; entities are added on documented appointment, not on request.
